About: The School of Bologna Art or the Bolognese School flourished in the capital of Emilia Romagna, between the 16th and 17th centuries in Italy, rivalling both Florence and Rome as the centre of painting. Its most important representatives are the Carracci family, including Ludovico Carracci and his two cousins, the brothers Agostino and Annibale Carracci. Later, it included several other Baroque painters.

Notably, this drawing holds a synergy with the putti figure in Annibale Carracci's Sleeping Venus 1605.
