Condition: Condition is good with no marks or foxing.

About: After Joseph Mallard, William Turner was a pioneering Romanticism movement artist who later inspired the Impressionist movement and had a great influence on Monet.

This is a very good, faithful, and smaller late 19th-century copy of Turner's 1830-2 original watercolour painting for Samuel Rodgers Poems, which is held in the Tate Gallery London. The original size is 19.1 cm x 24.8 cm. This vignette, Ship-building (An Old Oak Dead), was published in the 1834 edition of Roger’s Poems and appears as the tail piece with another illustration, An Old Oak.
