About: A delightful and faithful small copy of the original oil painting. Cabanel painted mainly historical, classical and religious subjects in the academic style. His oeuvre includes Shakespeare’s Ophelia with his version often shown compared to the Pre-Raphalelite artists, John William Waterhouse and John Everett Millais. Cabanel’s most recognised work is arguably “The Fallen Angel”, which was inspired by John Milton's poem Paradise Lost (1667) a work about the Devil's defiance of God.
