About: Circle of James Arthur O'Connor (1792-1841) was one of the most respected Irish landscape artists of the early 19th century, he was often compared to John Constable as well as being dubbed the Constable of Ireland. His works are well-executed and detailed genre scenes, often depicting the best attributes of the Irish and British landscape combined with solitary figures.

O'Connor exhibited at both the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin and the Royal Academy in London. His works are held in private collections around the world as well as being represented by many public institutions, including The National Gallery of Ireland, The British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum to name but a few.
