Artist: Russian School (18th Century).
Title: Four Saints Orthodox Icon.
Medium: Tempera and gold leaf on wooden panel.
Condition: Some losses, with inactive bora holes to the case and back of the icon.
Provenance: Purportedly Ex Collection of Alitalia CEO, the collection was held in Japan for several decades and later moved to Australia.

About: 18th Century icon portraying four saints from the Orthodox faith in divine conversation. John the Warrior, Zosima, Sabbatij and Barbara are placed below a celestial opening in the clouds, top-centre of the panel, where Christ is shown in half-length blessing the four saints beneath him.

The icon is housed in its original case, which opens and the icon can be removed. The case has been re-glazed with anti-reflective, UV-resistant, invisible glass Artglass AR70.
